The federal government has decided to hire a Secretary, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication from the private sector, offering a lucrative salary package of up to Rs. 2 million.
The Establishment Division has invited applications for the position on a contract basis through a recently issues advertisement.
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 20 years of experience in the IT and telecom sector, including 12 years in senior management positions.
This appointment will mark the first time a private sector professional will lead the IT and telecom ministry. Notably, the Secretary Law and Justice is laso from the private sector, setting a precedent for industry expertise in government roles.
The post fell vacant after Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood was removed from his post as Additional Secretary (charge) on July 23, 2024. Ayesha Humaira was subsequently appointed to look after the ministry’s affairs until a permanent replacement is found.

They will hire some call centers owner who will make policies that make any decisions beneficial to employees difficult .
