LDA Seals 18 Illegal Buildings in Lahore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its enforcement efforts against unauthorized commercial use in Lahore. On Friday, LDA teams sealed 18 buildings in Allama Iqbal Town and Sabzazar for failing to pay the required commercialization fees.

The operation targeted various sites, including Stars School System, Dar-ul-Madinah, Rakan Grammar School, Pips School System, and Rana Academy, as well as a clinic, private offices, and shops. Chief Town Planner-I Assad-uz-Zaman led the enforcement effort, which was supported by enforcement teams and the police.

LDA officials stated that multiple notices were issued to the owners of these buildings before the operation. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has instructed the continuation of rigorous actions against violations of building and parking regulations, encroachments, and illegal commercial activities in Lahore.

In separate news, the authority has announced plans to redesign the Thokar Niaz Baig junction. The LDA will begin repair and maintenance work on the main entrance to the city within the next few days.

The project aims to make the entrance and exit points more attractive and spacious.

The project will involve asphalt resurfacing, lane marking, beautification efforts, and new signage. In addition to road repair and maintenance, the footpaths will be widened and expanded.
