A senior official has warned that Pakistani citizens visiting the UAE must adhere to local laws and visa regulations. He added that failure to comply could result in being barred from leaving the country.
Hussain Muhammad, the consul-general of Pakistan in Dubai, stated that visitors will be checked at Pakistani airports. If they do not meet requirements such as having hotel reservations, sufficient funds, and return tickets, they may be prevented from departing.
According to travel industry experts, tourists arriving in the UAE on a visit visa must have at least Dh3,000, a return ticket, and either hotel accommodation or proof of residence with a family member.
Failure to meet these requirements can result in being denied entry and sent back to their home country. Hussain Muhammad advised the 1.7 million Pakistani expatriates in the UAE to adhere to local laws and customs and to make positive contributions to society.
He added that UAE laws are strictly enforced, and violators may face fines or imprisonment for breaches.
In an interview with Khaleej Times, Muhammad highlighted that the visa issue is being addressed by the FIA and airport authorities in Pakistan, and those who do not meet the requirements will be stopped at the airport.
Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, also advised Pakistani visitors on a tourist visa to adhere to the rules, including having a return ticket, Dh3,000 in funds, and hotel accommodation. Tirmizi stated that tourists should focus on visiting attractions and not seek employment while on a tourist visa.
