Pakistan to Issue Certifications to 300,000 IT Experts With China’s Help

The federal government with the help of a Chinese IT company will issue certifications to 300,000 IT professionals, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal said at an event held recently.

He announced that 50,000 IT certifications will be issued by 2025 through the NewTech platform.

Rana Ehsan Afzal also assured that the government was committed to economic development under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership. The federal government is working on reducing its expenditures which will commence with the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and electricity distribution companies. This privatization effort aims to lower energy losses and streamline operations, he said.

Rana Ehsan noted the challenges posed by the International Monetary Fund’s demands, which required difficult tax measures in exchange for a big bailout.

He added that the Prime Minister was attentive to public concerns and will soon announce relief measures for the salaried class. He further said the government has allocated Rs. 50 billion to provide relief in electricity bills of at least 86 percent of consumers.
