The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has announced that applications are now open for the 2025 Fulbright Scholar Program. This esteemed program will select approximately 15 scholars for the 2025 academic year. Of these, 13 positions are reserved for faculty members and researchers in the early stages of their careers, with 2-7 years of experience, while the remaining two positions are intended for senior scholars with 8-15 years since the completion of their Ph.D. or terminal degree.
The Fulbright Scholar Program provides up to 12 months of opportunities for lectureships, post-doctoral research, or a combination of both at a U.S. college or university. Selected scholars will engage in academic and cultural exchanges, offering their insights on Pakistan’s society and culture to students, colleagues, and community groups in the United States. Upon returning to Pakistan, Fulbright scholars are expected to make meaningful contributions to the country’s development by sharing their U.S. experiences within their academic and professional circles.
The program offers a comprehensive package, including airfare, an incidental research allowance, a living stipend, and health insurance. It also covers the visa application process and provides financial support for one accompanying dependent.
The program is open to scholars, professionals, and artists from all disciplines, except clinical medicine. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree and should have been in their current academic role for at least two years. Those who have recently returned from educational opportunities in the United States must have spent at least two years in Pakistan before applying.
All interested candidates must apply online through the USEFP website at www.usefp.org. Only online applications will be accepted, and the deadline for submission, including all references, is Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
USEFP strongly encourages applicants from underserved communities and those with diverse backgrounds to apply. For more details, prospective applicants can visit the USEFP website or reach out via email at scholar@usefp.org, by phone at 051-8431300, or by fax at 051-8431555.
This program underscores USEFP’s dedication to promoting academic excellence and fostering cultural exchange between Pakistan and the United States.
