In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a decision has been made not to construct new buildings for government schools; instead, government schools will now operate in rented buildings.
According to reports, quoting official documents, due to financial difficulties and the need to provide school facilities promptly, work is ongoing to initiate a project under the concept of renting buildings. In the initial phase, 650 primary and middle schools will be started in rented buildings.
Sources indicate that constructing a school building takes five years and costs 30 million rupees, which is not feasible due to an empty treasury.
The reports indicate that the documents state that the rented schools will be established in merged and settled districts, with the project costing 1.4 billion rupees, while saving more than 5 billion rupees.
According to the documents, the schools will be rented for 3, 4, and 5 years.
Education department officials have stated that due to challenges, the decision has been made to start schools in rented buildings. This project will provide school facilities to a greater number of students.
If the treasury is empty, increase exports and find new sources of generating income and revenue. Make such an economic plan that KPK does not have to depend on federal government for funds.
