Pakistan to Announce Hajj Policy 2025 Next Month

The Ministry of Hajj has accelerated its efforts to finalize the Hajj Policy for 2025, according to a private news channel.

The news channel, citing sources familiar with the development, reported that the policy is expected to be announced in September. Furthermore, the Ministry is contemplating major changes to both private and government Hajj scheme quotas.

According to the sources, discussions are underway to introduce a new policy for long and short-term Hajj schemes. This move comes in response to pilgrim feedback on previous Hajj arrangements.

The Ministry plans to tackle these concerns and improve facilities with the new policy. Moreover, immigration procedures under the Road to Makkah project will remain in place at Karachi and Islamabad airports, with a proposal to add Lahore Airport for the next Hajj season. An official announcement of the Hajj Policy 2025 is anticipated shortly.

It is pertinent to mention that approximately 160,000 Pakistani pilgrims performed the last Hajj. The country had a quota of 179,210 pilgrims this year, of which around 70,000 people performed the Hajj under the government scheme, while the rest used private tour operators.
