Punjab Government Increases Number of Tehsils in Lahore

In a major administrative reorganization, Lahore has been divided into 10 new tehsils, increasing the total number in the capital of Punjab

The restructuring aims to enhance governance, financial systems, and public relief programs in Lahore. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the summary for creating these new tehsils.

The Board of Revenue’s notification states that Lahore District, previously made up of six tehsils, has been restructured into multiple new tehsils, each with designated seat allocations.

The newly established tehsils are:

  • Raiwind: 51 seats
  • Allama Iqbal Town: 19 seats
  • Nishtar: 42 seats
  • Model Town: 21 seats
  • Cantt: 35 seats
  • Sadar: 62 seats
  • Wagah: 62 seats
  • Shalimar: Seats not specified
  • Ravi: 23 seats
  • Lahore City: 23 seats

To oversee new tehsils Commissioner Lahore has been assigned five assistant commissioners for the five new administrative divisions.
