Wildlife Department Bans Hunting of Quail in KP

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department imposed a ban on Thursday on hunting the endangered quail, locally known as batair.

To protect the endangered bird, the KP government has halted the issuance of permits and licenses for quail hunting. The wildlife chief conservator has informed all provincial conservators of this decision. According to the notification issued by the wildlife department, the ban will remain in place until the quail population in the province shows an increase.
