The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has introduced a new “efficient, fast, and cost-effective e-office system,” set to be implemented from Monday. A notification issued on Friday, under the directive of Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa, requires all directorates to fully adopt the e-office system starting September 2. The initiative aims to boost administrative efficiency, streamline processes, and promote a paperless work environment.
The CDA emphasized that all directorates must complete necessary preparations, including staff training and infrastructure setup, before the deadline. Non-compliance will result in strict disciplinary action according to the authority’s rules.
Chairman Randhawa stated that all core operations of the CDA will now be conducted through the e-office system to ensure effectiveness and transparency. He added that the government is committed to fostering a paperless environment, which will also enhance transparency by allowing file movement and timelines to be monitored on a dashboard, preventing unjustified delays or objections.
He expressed optimism that this system will bring significant improvements in efficiency and transparency. The CDA also plans to offer its services online soon.
Member Technology Nauman Khalid shared that the test run of the CDA’s app “My Islamabad” is underway, with a full launch expected soon. The app will allow citizens to access services from 64 CDA directorates, including property taxes, water charges, and certificates for births and deaths. Citizens will also be able to file complaints and pay fees online. The app will also include services from the One-Window Operation and the excise and taxation office.
Additionally, CDA’s land records are being digitized, with 30% of the project already completed as part of a six-month initiative.
