Chinese Premier Li Qiang is set to embark on an official visit to Pakistan next month, marking a significant moment in the ongoing strengthening of relations between the two countries.
Diplomatic sources have confirmed that the visit will take place from October 14 to 16. The trip, which comes at a critical time for Pakistan-China relations, follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Beijing.
During his three-day stay in Pakistan, Premier Li Qiang is expected to engage in high-level talks for bilateral cooperation.
The visit will be divided into two distinct phases. In the first phase, beginning on October 14, Premier Li will arrive in Islamabad for bilateral discussions.
These talks will focus on enhancing the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, exploring new areas of cooperation, and addressing issues of mutual interest.
The second phase of the visit, scheduled for October 15 and 16, will see Premier Li participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Pakistan is set to host the summit, where leaders from SCO member states will convene to discuss regional security, economic collaboration, and other pressing matters.
During Premier Li’s visit, several agreements are expected to be signed, further solidifying the robust ties between Islamabad and Beijing.
This visit, which follows a gap of over a decade since a Chinese premier last visited Pakistan, is viewed by officials as a continuation of the momentum in bilateral relations, reinforced by recent diplomatic engagements between the two nations.
