Govt Likely to Give Some Money Back to Hajj Pilgrims

Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhary Salik Hussain informed the National Assembly on Thursday that each pilgrim is expected to receive a refund of Rs 100,000, as the ministry is currently conducting a recount, ARY News reported.

During the Question Hour, while responding to supplementary questions, the minister highlighted that the cost of Hajj this year was already Rs 100,000 lower than the previous year. Additionally, each pilgrim received a relief of around Rs 35,000 in airfare for this year’s Hajj, he added.

The minister also clarified that contrary to the usual selection of 1,400 Moavineen-e-Hujjaj, only 600 were selected through the NTS test for Hajj 2024.
