Two newly purchased computers have reportedly been stolen from the Supreme Court of Pakistan, sparking an investigation into the incident. A formal complaint was lodged by the Supreme Court’s Director of IT at the Secretariat Police Station.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the missing computers were part of a batch of 131 computers bought in June and were stored in room 306. CCTV footage reportedly showed suspicious activity involving two employees, leading to their involvement in the case being scrutinized.
The police have arrested Zahid Iqbal, a driver employed by the Secretary to the Chief Justice, while another suspect, junior clerk Faisal Khan, is currently at large. Authorities are conducting raids in an attempt to locate Faisal Khan.
It has come to light that Faisal Khan, previously dismissed from his position, had recently been reinstated after a successful departmental appeal. Investigations are ongoing, and the police registered the case on September 6, with further updates expected as the inquiry proceeds.
