The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) thwarted an attempt to distribute 500kg of unhygienic meat from sick animals during a special raid on Monday.
PFA Director General Muhammad Asim Javaid stated that acting on a tip-off, the authority raided a building in the Township area and seized 12.5 maunds of substandard meat concealed under the seats of a passenger van.
