Sindh Govt Announces Online Auction for Premium Number Plates

The Sindh government has announced an online auction for special vehicle number plates, aiming to generate funds for the construction of homes for flood victims. The auction will offer number plates in three premium categories: platinum, gold, and silver, Excise Minister Sharjeel Memon shared during a meeting held on Wednesday.

The Sindh Excise Department, led by Memon, revealed plans to introduce a dedicated online portal where individuals can participate in the bidding process for these exclusive number plates. The auction is expected to attract wide interest, as the unique plates will be available within a set time frame.

Furthermore, a reselling portal will also be introduced. Memon further announced that a major fundraising event would take place in Karachi on October 12, where people can bid on premium and personalized number plates.

The funds raised from this event will be entirely allocated to the housing project for flood victims. During the meeting, the department discussed measures to combat the narcotics problem.

Memon ordered strict action against officers found neglecting their duties in tackling drug-related issues. He stated that additional police personnel and resources will be deployed to ramp up efforts in fighting drug trafficking, with a focus on sustained and coordinated operations to dismantle narcotics networks.
