Federal Minister for Privatization and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has urged the National Highway Authority (NHA) to quickly complete its online system for highways.
Speaking in Lahore, the minister highlighted that 92% of Motorway users are now utilizing M-tags for toll payments. He encouraged transporters to take advantage of this system for smoother transactions.
Khan emphasized the need for advanced technology, directing the NHA to adopt high-tech systems similar to those used in developed countries. He also stressed the importance of collaboration between the NHA and Motorway Police to ensure smooth operations on highways.
The minister instructed the NHA to establish a daily updated dashboard and implement a state-of-the-art monitoring system aligned with Safe City standards. He recommended the use of modern cameras and technology for better surveillance and monitoring.
Khan commended the NHA for its efforts to boost revenue and suggested further steps to strengthen the institution. He discouraged the use of cash at toll plazas, urging the use of E-tags and proposing fines for non-compliant vehicles.
The minister also stressed the need for uniform laws for all vehicles on motorways, promising honorary certificates for officials who bring about positive reforms within the NHA.

The major problem with m-tag is that you can’t transfer balance from one vehicle number to another. This should be implemented because if you change the car all your previous balance will lost.
