Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Unlikely Crossover with Legendary Fighting Game

As if amassing 1 billion followers on social media wasn’t enough, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has teased of surprise crossover with a popular videogame that isn’t FIFA or FC25.

The world of fighting games is a vast and unique place. With a concept as basic as two characters facing off in a fight, it is quite interesting just how many possibilities there can be about the competitors.

In an announcement that has shaken the very foundations of the global football fraternity and fighting game community alike, acclaimed footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has teased an unexpected crossover with Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves, the much-awaited sequel in the iconic Fatal Fury series.

Alongside a teaser video posted on the social media site X, Cristiano Ronaldo declared “Something exciting in the making!”

Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves will be the first new entry in the Fatal Fury series in 26 years, making it one of the most hotly anticipated titles in quite some time. It should also be noted that SNK, the publisher and developer of the game is owned in majority by the Misk Foundation; a non-profit organization owned by the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman.

This linkage to the Saudi monarchy, both in terms of the games developer and Al-Nassr, the club Cristiano Ronaldo plays for, goes some way towards explaining this otherwise unimaginable collaboration.

While it is yet unclear what the exact nature of this crossover will be, this news has put both the footballing and fighting game fandoms on notice.
