KP Announces Addition of Life Insurance to Sehat Card Plus

In a significant move to enhance social protection for residents, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has decided to incorporate life insurance into the Sehat Card Plus program. This decision was made during a meeting focused on improving the healthcare initiative.

The meeting, which took place on Monday, included key officials such as Health Advisor Ahtisham Ali and Finance Advisor Muzzamil Aslam, along with representatives from the Health Department and the State Life Insurance Corporation. They discussed various aspects of the Sehat Card Plus initiative.

During the discussions, Gandapur addressed concerns regarding the suspension of cardiac surgeries at the Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC) under the Sehat Card Plus scheme. He instructed officials to ensure that these surgeries resume promptly, emphasizing that the government would cover additional costs.

The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of the Sehat Card Plus program, describing it as a flagship initiative of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. He stated that the health card aims to provide comprehensive coverage for various medical conditions, and urged for greater transparency and accountability within the program.

To further improve healthcare access, Gandapur announced plans to add reputable hospitals to the Sehat Card panel, ensuring that citizens, especially those in remote areas, receive quality healthcare services without financial burden.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to timely payments to the State Life Insurance Corporation to avoid disruptions in the free healthcare services provided to patients.
