KP Govt to Dismiss 6,000 Employees Hired During Caretaker Setup

In a bold move, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced plans to dismiss 6,000 employees recruited during the caretaker government’s tenure.

Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam revealed that the hiring in question spanned multiple departments, with illegal appointments particularly rampant in the health and education sectors.

Alam stated that comprehensive lists of these unlawfully hired employees have already been compiled. He further warned that departments failing to submit the necessary records will face strict action.

Even those who secured NOCs (No Objection Certificates) from the Election Commission for recruitment were reportedly involved in illegal appointments. A resolution will soon be tabled in the assembly to formally remove these employees from service.

A few days ago, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced the termination of 1,800 employees hired by the interim government.

Gandapur assured that any protests from the affected employees would be addressed. He clarified that those appointed unlawfully would not be paid, but those recruited through proper channels would be protected.

He slammed the interim government for exceeding its authority by making appointments based on political alliances rather than qualifications. According to Gandapur, these actions were politically driven, favoring certain groups instead of following a merit-based process.
