Karachi residents can now easily apply online for learning driving licenses and international driving permits. Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar inaugurated the online service at the Clifton Driving Licence Branch on Saturday.
The minister explained that the new service allows citizens to apply for learning licenses, and international permits, and renew non-commercial licenses without visiting the branch. However, international permits will only be issued to those with valid Sindh driving licenses.
Lanjar emphasized that modernizing police services would enhance the relationship between law enforcement and the public. He also instructed the Karachi police chief to establish ‘model’ police stations in the city.
Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon highlighted that the online service was introduced for the convenience of Karachi’s drivers. He hopes the system will ease obtaining licenses and reduce the workload at driving license branches.
The use of technology in managing the traffic system is standard practice worldwide, Memon added.

It’s good that they have done this at last but as usual the otp did not generate for verification therefore useless and cannot generate renewal online.
