A recent survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan and the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN) has revealed that the majority of Pakistanis believe social media does not significantly impact their lives.
This contrasts global opinions, where social media influence is seen as more pervasive.
The survey, which covered 39 countries including Pakistan, found that only 31% of Pakistanis believe social media dominates their lives, while 38% disagreed. Furthermore, 21% gave a neutral response, and 11% chose not to answer.
On a global scale, 50% of respondents expressed concern about social media’s growing influence. In the Middle East, the figure was even higher, with 57% of people worried about social media’s intrusion into their personal lives.
The survey highlights differing perceptions of social media’s role within Pakistan and worldwide.
