The Punjab Traffic Headquarters has announced a new initiative to issue driving licenses to college and university students.
This decision, approved by the Additional IG Traffic, aims to enhance accessibility for students who require driving credentials for personal and academic purposes.
According to a spokesperson from the traffic headquarters, directives have been sent to all City Traffic Officers (CTOs) and District Traffic Officers (DTOs) across the province to implement this plan.
Under the new guidelines, driving licenses will be issued to students and administrative staff within educational institutions. To facilitate the process, CTOs and DTOs will arrange meetings with the heads of all colleges and universities in Punjab.
Furthermore, educational institutions will appoint focal persons to ensure smooth coordination. College and university administrations will assist students by providing transport to testing centers, where they will have access to all necessary services for obtaining their driving licenses.
The Higher Education Commission of Punjab has also provided specific guidelines to educational institutions to support this campaign, reinforcing the commitment to enhancing student mobility across the province.
