Karachi is Getting 30 New Parks Soon

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) Department of Parks and Horticulture is developing 30 large parks across various districts of Karachi. Green belts around three key city locations, along with major roads such as Sharea Faisal and Shahrah-e-Pakistan, are being upgraded with additional greenery and landscaping. To enhance both park lighting and street aesthetics, high-mass lighting poles are also being installed.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab reiterated his commitment to making Karachi greener and more beautiful. He has directed the parks department to expedite the construction and renovation of parks in every district, aiming to provide residents with easy access to recreational spaces.

Wahab emphasized that these parks are a public trust, belonging to the citizens. He noted that the Pakistan People’s Party government is dedicated to restoring and preserving these assets and will ensure measures for their protection. The provincial government remains committed to improving the city’s beauty and greenery by fully utilizing KMC’s resources.

Wahab expressed confidence that soon, every area in Karachi will have access to well-maintained, green parks.
