Younis Khan Suggest Two Players to Replace Babar Azam as Captain

Pakistan legend Younis Khan shared his thoughts on Babar Azam’s resignation and proposed two potential successors: Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman. The renowned cricketer was warmly welcomed at the iconic Adelaide Oval earlier today.

Younis emphasized the potential benefits of Babar stepping down from the captaincy. “Stepping away from the captaincy will be beneficial for Babar Azam. In our culture, we often make the biggest player the captain, which I believe is a mistake,” he remarked. He suggested that either Mohammad Rizwan or Fakhar Zaman should be considered for the leadership role.

There are already rumors suggesting Mohammad Rizwan is one of the shortlisted candidates for ODI captaincy, alongside Mohammad Haris for T20. Younis Khan’s suggestion of Fakhar Zaman certainly seems to be an interesting choice as well.

The visit to Adelaide Oval was a special moment for Younis Khan, who was presented with the official South Australia Redbacks cap by Mark Cosgrove, a former Australian cricketer and the current High-Performance Coach of the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA). This gesture was a nod to Younis’s stint with the Redbacks during the 2008-09 season.

Younis Khan’s trip to Australia is part of his participation in the upcoming Australian Summer Cricket Festival, scheduled for October 5 in Melbourne. This event, which aims to celebrate cricket and foster connections among players, will feature top Australian cricketers, including Glenn Maxwell and Jake Fraser-McGurk.
