The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has empowered the officers of Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) to exercise powers and functions of the Customs officials in Balochisan with immediate effect.
Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) would now operate as customs officials within the jurisdiction of Balochistan up to June 30, 2025.
According to an S.R.0.1503 (1)/2024 issued by the FBR on Thursday, the Board has entrusted to the officers of the Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) operating within their respective jurisdictions, the functions of officers of Customs under the provisions of the Customs Act.
This is subject to the condition that the functions shall be performed within the province of Balochistan. The functions shall exclude the Customs areas, Customs stations, ports, Borders Customs Stations, International Airports and Bonded Warehouses, etc.
The personnel of Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) shall not check any bonafide passenger’s baggage and goods cleared from any customs area. They shall exercise due care and ensure that while performing these functions, the personnel of the Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) do not obstruct the flow of legitimate goods of trade, imports and exports, and the general public; the personnel of Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) shall provide assistance to officers of Customs in the discharge of their functions in terms of section 7 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969);
The goods seized, on suspicion of being smuggled or intended to be smuggled, shall be deposited only in a State Warehouse duly approved by the Collector of Customs.
The Officer Commanding (OC) of each formation or wing of the Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) shall furnish the monthly details of seizures to the Collector of Customs (Enforcement) within their respective jurisdiction, FBR added.



Wrong decision of fbr. it’s complete failure.
Ranger is not properly equipped and trained to
carry out such duties. FBR must perform their
duties honestly on bigger interest of country.
Look at the FBR. These departments are surrendering every piece of authority to the establishment. This move is condemnable. Rather that empowering itself, FBR is giving up all. Why not declare a Martial Law if the civilian institutions cannot work.
