Pakistan-born former Australian cricketer Fawad Ahmed has lambasted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for failing to arrange any four-day matches to prepare for the impending Test series against England at home.
The legspinner who played ten first-class matches in Pakistan before moving down under, stated in a post on social media site X that the Green Shirts did not learn from being whitewashed at home by Bangladesh and instead chose to introduce another one-day competition (in reference to the Champions Cup One Day tournament) rather than play four-day games to prepare for England’s Test tour of Pakistan which is set to commence on Monday.
Furthermore, Fawad Ahmed proceeded to tag former Pakistani wicketkeeper Rashid Latif as well as notable journalists Faizan Lakhani and Dr Nauman Niaz in order to raise awareness.
The Men in Green has faced significant challenges at home, as of late. Including the aforementioned whitewash at home, they have not won a test match at home in quite a while now.
There are quite a bit of issues surrounding the team, with constant captaincy shuffles as well as the much-reported subpar performance of Babar Azam. Amidst all these problems, the England tour of Pakistan comes at a pivotal point.
