You can now bring foldable e-scooters when traveling on the Dubai Metro or Tram. On Friday, October 4, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced updated rules and guidelines for e-scooter users.
“Ensure that your e-scooter is folded and placed in designated areas, and do not ride it inside the stations,” the RTA stated on its official social media channels.
In March this year, the RTA prohibited e-scooters on the Dubai Metro and Tram to maintain commuter safety. However, the new rules now allow passengers to carry foldable e-scooters that meet specific criteria.
Permitted E-Scooters: The approved e-scooters must be foldable, without a seat, and should not exceed the size of 120cm x 70cm x 40cm, with a maximum weight of 20kg.
These guidelines apply during the operating hours of both the Metro and Tram.
