Karachi Introduces Digital Domicile System for Quick Access

In a transformative step to enhance accessibility, Karachi has launched a digital domicile system, significantly reducing the time and effort required for citizens to obtain their domiciles.

Previously plagued by lengthy procedures and corruption, the process now allows residents to secure their domiciles within just two days for a nominal fee of Rs 660.

At the inauguration of the Digital Domicile Desk at the Korangi Deputy Commissioner Office, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi revealed plans to implement door-to-door delivery of domiciles across all districts, further easing the application process.

Deputy Commissioner of Korangi, Jawad Muzaffar, highlighted that the required documentation for domicile issuance has been cut down from 15 to just seven. To combat the problem of counterfeit documents, a QR code system has been integrated, enabling instant verification and ensuring the authenticity of issued domiciles.

This digital initiative is set to resolve long-standing challenges faced by citizens and students in Karachi, marking a significant advancement in public service and governance. The move reflects the government’s commitment to improving administrative efficiency and transparency in the region.
