Israel Spent Billions to End US-Iran Peace Talks: US Vice President

US Vice President JD Vance has blamed Israel and elements within the occupying state for spending billions of dollars to undermine Pakistan-mediated talks to end the US-Iran war.

Speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience, Vance said Israel tried its best to derail the Pakistan-hosted peace process.

He said Israel spent “enormous sums of money” trying to discredit US officials pursuing a deal with Tehran. He said he was shocked after seeing a foreign-funded influence campaign promoted through Time magazine against the ceasefire agreement he was working on alongside Pakistan and partner Gulf countries.

Vance also commented that some Israeli officials wanted the war with Iran to continue indefinitely but Washington’s priority was securing peace rather than prolonging the situation.

His comments mark one of the sharpest public criticisms of the Israeli government by a sitting US vice president and highlight growing tensions within the Trump administration over Middle East policy.

The remarks come weeks after Pakistan hosted high-level US-Iran negotiations in Islamabad as part of diplomatic efforts to end the war. For now, the talks have ended, and Hormuz has emerged again as a tinderbox for both sides.
