The Pakistan Cricket team are set to undergo fitness tests ahead of the second Test against England, scheduled from October 15 to 19.
Sources say that in addition to those already present with the team, players like Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Kamran Ghulam, Zahid Mahmood, Nauman Ali, Haseebullah as well as Imam-ul-Haq have been summoned to Multan for the evaluations, which are expected to take place on Saturday.
In Lahore, leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood and Slow left arm, Nauman Ali were previously dropped from the squad for the first Test due to failing fitness requirements. Additionally, leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed is expected to miss the second Test as he is currently undergoing hospital treatment.
The Pakistan team spent a fair bit of time on the field in the first test, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will want to identify any lingering issues ahead of the second.
Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat in the first Test against England on Friday, losing by an innings and 47 runs at Multan Cricket Stadium. Under the captaincy of Masood, Pakistan has now lost six consecutive Tests, including a 3-0 loss to England and a 2-0 home series defeat by Bangladesh.
As a result, Pakistan is currently ranked ninth in the Test rankings. The second Test between Pakistan and England will take place in in Multan starting October the 15th.
