Mickey Arthur Points Out Major Issues With Pakistan Cricket

In the wake of Pakistan’s recent loss to England, former head coach of the Pakistan Team, Mickey Arthur took to social media to commend the players’ talent, but also pointed out several issues that are affecting the team’s morale and performance.

While he acknowledged that Pakistan’s players are highly skilled and deserve their places in the team, Arthur highlighted the need for consistency in selection, team environment, and management to boost performance.

“The players are very, very skilled and are the right ones. The inconsistency around selection, environment, and administration plays a role in team morale, give the players structure, and they will perform.” the former head coach said in a social media post.

Mickey Arthur also criticized the damaging influence of media-driven narratives, stating that negative coverage from the media can negatively impact the team. “The harsh rhetoric and media-driven agendas are not helpful,” he commented.

He further stressed that representing Pakistan should be the pinnacle of a player’s career, saying that playing for Pakistan should be the most rewarding experience.

A major aspect of Arthur’s criticism was the excessive promotion of players by agents or the media, which he believes inflates their sense of self-importance. He explained that when certain players are promoted in such dubious ways, it can lead them to believe they are more important than they actually are, creating a distorted perception and sense of entitlement.
