Another flight attendant of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has gone missing in Canada. The crew member, identified as Mohsin Raza, was last seen in Toronto and was scheduled to board a flight from Karachi on October 13.
Raza, who hails from Islamabad, failed to report to the hotel ahead of flight PK 784. His absence was noticed when he did not show up for duty.
Over the past year, more than twelve PIA flight attendants have reportedly gone missing in Toronto. Sources suggest that the airline’s policy requiring crew members to hand over their passports to authorities in Toronto has not been effective in curbing these incidents.
A PIA spokesperson confirmed that the airline has launched an investigation into the disappearance. If Mohsin Raza is found guilty, the airline stated that strict disciplinary measures would follow, potentially including termination of employment.
This incident follows a similar case from June, when another flight attendant, Noor Sher, who was part of the 16-member crew on flight PK 781 from Pakistan to Toronto, also went missing.
Reports suggest that the missing crew members may have applied for asylum in Canada.
