Kamran Ghulam Reveals How He Rejected Several Lucrative Offers to Play Abroad

In a candid media talk following his amazing debut performance, Kamran Ghulam revealed that he had turned down numerous offers to play cricket abroad.

Despite facing challenges in securing a spot on the national team, he remained steadfast in his commitment to representing Pakistan. “After failing to get a chance to play for the country, I was invited to play cricket abroad, which I resisted. I knew my time would come, and I would grab that with both hands,” Kamran stated.

Kamran’s journey to the national team has been one of resilience and dedication. Over the past four years, he has been in and out of the probables list, often finding himself on the bench. However, he never lost heart and continued to work hard in domestic cricket. “My efforts span over 15 years in which I achieved all the targets. Yet, my chance to represent my country, which has been my dream, came true here in Multan today,” he shared.

Replacing the legendary Babar Azam in the playing XI, Kamran was aware of the significant responsibility on his shoulders. “I knew I was replacing a legend on the team who has proved himself internationally. It was at the back of my mind not to let the opportunity go. It is a big honor to replace a legendary player in the playing XI,” he remarked.

Kamran Ghulam made headlines by becoming the 13th Pakistani cricketer to score a century on his Test debut. His calm and composed approach helped him form a vital 149-run partnership with Saim Ayub, putting Pakistan in a more stable position. At the moment, Pakistan concluded their first innings on Day 2 with a total of 366.
