Pakistan Selectors Eyeing Spin-Friendly Rawalpindi Pitch for Crucial Third Test

Pakistan’s selection committee, led by Aaqib Javed, are focusing on preparing a spin-friendly pitch in Rawalpindi ahead of the third and decisive Test against England which is set to begin on October 24.

According to sources, the decision to tweak the Rawalpindi surface aims to give Pakistan home advantage as they look to finally win a series on home soil.

The three match series is currently tied 1-1.

Aaqib has reportedly advised the ground staff at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium to maintain a dry surface across the entire square, in an effort to replicate conditions similar to the spinner-friendly pitch in Multan, where Noman Ali and Sajid Khan thrived.

Pakistan used the abrasive surface to their advantage, fielding just a solitary pacer in their side to notch is first test win in 3 years.

The former fast bowler is expected to visit the stadium ahead of the match to assess the preparations and ensure the pitch aligns with the team’s wining formula.

Pakistan and England will face each other in the third test from October 24-28 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with both teams keeping an eye on how the pitch will perform.
