Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the playing XI for the final Test match against England at Rawalpindi on Thursday.
Despite rumors of the selection committee tinkering with the squad, the home has decided to stick with the winning formula which delivered the team’s first test in over three years.
Here is the playing XI selected for the crucial decider on Thursday.
Pakistan Playing XI for Final Test:
| Saim Ayub | Abdullah Shafique | Shan Masood (c) | Kamran Ghulam |
| Mohammad Rizwan (wk) | Salman Ali Agha | Aamer Jamal | Saud Shakeel (vc) |
| Noman Ali | Sajid Khan | Zahid Mehmood |
With the wicket expected to turn both teams have decided to go with three specialist spinners in their playing squads.
England XI for the Third Test:
| Zak Crawley | Ben Duckett | Joe Root | Ben Stokes (c) |
| Jamie Smith (wk) | Gus Atkinson | Shoaib Bashir | Harry Brook |
| Jack Leach | Rehan Ahmed | Ollie Pope |
The Rawalpindi surface, traditionally one of the flattest in world cricket, is expected to be prepared differently this time around, with ground staff using industrial fans, patio heaters, and rakes in an effort to dry out and rough up the pitch.
With the series tied at 1-1, the third Test promises to be a fascinating battle as England and Pakistan both seek to secure the series victory with spin-heavy bowling attacks.
