The Peshawar police department has taken a significant step in honoring the families of fallen officers by handing over recruitment orders to the sons and brothers of 29 policemen martyred in terrorist attacks, including victims of the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines bombing.
Capital City Police Officer Qasim Ali presented these orders during a ceremony on Wednesday, highlighting the department’s commitment to supporting the families of those who sacrificed their lives for public safety.
Newly appointed assistant sub-inspectors, many of whom are relatives of the martyred officers, were urged by Qasim Ali to emulate the bravery and dedication of their predecessors.
During the event, Qasim Ali praised the courage of the fallen heroes, stating that their legacy will forever be etched in history. He encouraged the recruits to actively contribute to restoring peace and combating crime, reinforcing the importance of their roles in the community.
In separate news, the provincial police has announced a major recruitment campaign, creating 1,300 job opportunities within the force. This decision was revealed during a meeting led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who confirmed the establishment of 1,356 new roles across the southern districts of the province.
The recruitment drive will fill 1,200 positions, including constables, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, and head constables. Importantly, the initiative prioritizes the children of police martyrs, raising their hiring quota for assistant sub-inspector positions from 5% to 12.5%.
