Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has rejected the National School of Public Policy’s request to exempt foreign study tours of grade 21 and 22 civil servants from austerity.
The Establishment Division has written a letter to the rector NSPP regarding the Foreign Study Tour of faculty/participants of the 121st National Management course.
The letter said that the prime minister has directed that the Foreign Study Tour for National Management Courses be discontinued with immediate effect.
The National School of Public Policy is therefore requested to discontinue the Foreign Study Tour scheduled for 121 NMC as well as in future.
Sources said that the government under the ongoing austerity drive has taken this decision while the NSPP had requested for exemption from austerity.
