The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Pakistani nationals intending to travel to Iraq to exercise extreme caution due to heightened tensions in the region following Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
The advisory stated, “In light of recent developments, Pakistani nationals planning trips to Iraq are urged to proceed with extreme caution until the situation stabilizes and regular airline operations resume. ”
The advisory further noted that Pakistani travelers can contact the Pakistan Embassy in Baghdad for additional information and assistance.
In related news, Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended flights to and from Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon and adjusted its Jordan operations.
“Given the current Middle East situation, Qatar Airways has temporarily halted flights to Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon until further notice,” the airline announced, adding that flights to Amman, Jordan, will operate “during daylight hours only.”
This decision follows Israeli airstrikes in Gaza and Lebanon and the country’s vow to respond to an Iranian missile strike on October 1.
