Here’s the Pace and Spin Test Batting Comparison of Pakistani Players

Pakistan cricket team is known as a bit of a maverick inside cricketing circles, with the third test match against England confirming this perception after another display of harlequin figures from its batters, which is a byword for their batting averages.

Since July 2023, Pakistan has failed to win a single test series despite its batters boasting some of the best batting averages against both pin and pace bowling.

Here is how their figures stack up over that period.

Pakistan Team Batting Averages since 2023:

Player Average vs Pace Average vs Spin
Abdullah Shfique 23.75 30.13
Saim Ayub 27.29 31.00
Shan Masood 38.30 27.44
Kamran Ghulam 37.00 55.00
Saud Shakeel 35.00 73.57
Mohammad Rizwan 39.00 99.67
Salman Ali Agha 48.25 85.60

Pakistan has still not been able to build a solid winning combination, which has resulted in some shaky performances from the side. The bulk of the run-scoring burden usually falls on someone in the middle order, which historically has been Babar Azam with a bit of Rizwan, Salman Agha, and Saud Shakeel sprinkled in.

With Pakistan finally turning to its roots of preparing spin wickets again and bringing its bowlers more into play, the batters may be able to express themselves better, helping Pakistan return to winning ways once more.
