Vinicius Jr Breaks Silence After Ballon d’Or Snub

Vinicius Jr has sent a defiant message on social media in his first post since he was trumped by Manchester City’s Rodri for this year’s Ballon d’Or.

The Real Madrid winger who finished second in the voting was direct and ominous in his first response since confirmation of the Spaniard’s win.

“I’ll do it 10x if I have to. They’re not ready.” Vinicius wrote on X, quickly setting social media ablaze as fans rallied around the forward’s message.

Vinicius Jr was widely expected to walk away with his first Ballon d’Or after helping his side lift a Champions League and LaLiga double until Monday, when it emerged that he and a group of Real Madrid players, including head coach Carlo Ancelotti, would not attend the Paris ceremony. Reports suggest the team caught wind of Rodri’s triumph, prompting the decision to skip the event entirely as a form of protest.

Vinicius received plenty of support from fans and teammates alike after the snub particularly from Eduardo Camavinga with the Frenchman blaming “politics” for the debacle.

His former teammate Toni Kross chimed in by calling the Brazilian best in the world.
