Xiaomi’s Hyper OS 2 Update Brings Better Performance, Visuals, and AI Tasks

Alongside its new Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro flagships, the Chinese phone maker has also unveiled the next major update to its HyperOS custom skin for Android. The update is called HyperOS 2 and it promises three “core technological innovations”: HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI.

The system boasts a newly designed scheduler alongside enhanced memory management and I/O resource handling capabilities. Users will experience a completely revamped rendering pipeline, while connectivity improvements span Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 5G technologies.

On the visual front, the update delivers several AI-powered features, including a”movie-like” lock screen experience and dynamically generated wallpapers. The home screen receives an overhaul, featuring enhanced visuals and more customization options for widgets. The update also brings fluid animation improvements and introduces an immersive 3D visualization system to the Weather application.

Users can now operate their smartphones through a windowed interface on their tablets. The system introduces cross-device functionality, enabling both clipboard-sharing and video recording capabilities across multiple devices.

Hyper OS 2 introduces a range of AI features to catch up with rivals such as AI Magic Painting, while AI voice recognition technology offers instant text conversion during recordings and automatic summary generation.

New AI-powered composition tools will help writers lower language barriers with advanced translation features that provide real-time bilingual subtitles and simultaneous interpretation for meetings, calls, and videos. Security receives a boost through AI Anti-Fraud technology, which actively identifies suspicious calls and detects manipulated face-swapping videos.

However, keep in mind that all of these changes are meant for Chinese Xiaomi devices only and will roll out in China across November, December, and the first half of 2025. Xiaomi has yet to announce the global version of Hyper OS 2, but it should have most of the same features announced with the Chinese variant.

We suspect the global version of Hyper OS 2 to launch alongside the international Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro variants.
