Xiaomi 15 Pro is the juiced-up version of the vanilla Xiaomi 15 as always, which is not only bigger but also has better specs. It shares the same, recently unveiled, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, but brings a giant battery as well as an overhauled camera system.
Design and Display
Even though the 6.73-inch LTPO OLED panel is flat, it features micro curvatures at all four corners of the display. Xiaomi has also slimmed down the bezels and raised the peak brightness to 3200 nits.
The screen resolution is 1,440 x 3,200px with 1Hz to 120Hz variable refresh rate thanks to LTPO tech and you get the same ultrasonic fingerprint sensor as the vanilla model. The screen is protected by Xiaomi’s own Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0, which they claim is 10x stronger than the current industry standard Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Internals and Software
The Snapdragon 8 Elite chip powers this phone with flagship performance. It is based on TSMC’s 3nm process and boasts a 45% boost in CPU processing and a 44% jump in power saving compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. You can pair it with 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage, just like the vanilla model.
For software, you get Hyper OS 2.0 based on Android 15.
Cameras
Xiaomi 15 Pro’s main camera is now based on a new AISP 2.0 computational photography system. The main 50MP sensor (1/1.31″ OmniVision Light Fusion 900) is the same as before, but the 50MP telephoto camera is now based on the Sony IMX858 with 5x optical zoom. The third camera is a 50MP ultrawide shooter with a 14mm lens.
The 32MP selfie camera is the same as the vanilla model with 4K 60 FPS video recording.
Battery and Pricing
Battery capacity has jumped from 4,880 mAh to 6,100 mAh and fast charging numbers are the same as the vanilla model: 90W wired and 50W wireless.
Xiaomi 15 Pro starts at $742 in China and comes in Grey, White, and Green as well as a Rock Silver version that has a 3D water ripple effect.
