The All Primary Teachers Association (APTA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a sit-in protest in Peshawar starting November 5.
Alongside the sit-in, there will be a complete strike, with all schools remaining closed from that date.
APTA’s provincial president, Aziz Ullah, stated that no primary school in the province would reopen until their demands were met in writing. He urged the government to provide primary teachers with their rightful and legal entitlements rather than issuing threats of disciplinary actions and imprisonment.
He noted that the basic pay scale for primary teachers in Punjab, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Islamabad is grade 14, with promotion opportunities up to grade 17.
