Toyota has introduced the exciting concept Land Cruiser ROX, a rugged, open-top SUV meant for off-road adventures. This unique design will debut at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.
Inspired by classic Land Cruisers, ROX stands for “Recreation Open eXperience,” and reflects Toyota’s vision of a fun, versatile off-road vehicle.
What’s New?
The ROX concept is based on the 2024 Land Cruiser but has been heavily modified. It features a sliding soft top and an open rear section, turning part of the SUV into a pickup truck bed. The A-pillars are designed like a trestle bridge for added strength, and a rear pillar includes Molle panels, allowing users to attach gear for outdoor activities.
The gray roof bars hold a triple-bar roof rack, while seven auxiliary lights on top light up trails. Toyota added a midgate that links the cabin to the bed, letting drivers carry longer items and offering access to seating in the tailgate.
Painted in Spring Green, inspired by vintage Land Cruisers, the ROX also includes steel bumpers, red tow hooks, and a winch. The “skeleton” design doors reduce weight and sit above sturdy rock rails, giving the vehicle a bold look.
Toyota raised the suspension by four inches and widened the stance by eight inches with aluminum control arms. The broad fender flares house large off-road tires on 18-inch billet wheels, giving the ROX an aggressive style perfect for off-road use.
Inside, the ROX has 3D-printed weatherproof parts, Heritage Orange leather seats, and storage webbing for small items. Although the ROX is only a concept for now, it shows Toyota’s interest in creating unique Land Cruiser models for adventure lovers in the future.
