Pakistan vs Australia 1st ODI: Pakistan’s Official Playing XI

Pakistan is set to take on Australia in a three-match ODI series, with the first Pakistan vs Australia ODI scheduled to take place at the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) tomorrow morning.

The two teams will be looking to assert their dominance and kickstart their Champions Trophy 2025 preparation in style. While the Australian side is settled and have the home advantage, the Men in Green are in a transition phase with a new captain and vice-captain in charge for the daunting tour downunder.

Pakistan’s premier wicket-keeper batter, Mohammad Rizwan will officially take charge of the limited-overs side in the first ODI and will be looking to get his captaincy stint on the right mark.

The Green Shirts have announced their playing XI for the first ODI, going in with four pacers and a part-time spinner as their bowling options. The series also marks the return of Pakistan’s star trio, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah after they were dropped midway through the Test series against England due to subpar performances.

The debutant in the Test series, Kamran Ghulam is another induction into the limited-overs setup along with young exciting talent, Irfan Khan Niazi. Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub will be tasked to open the innings for the side.
