A contingent of Pakistani cricketers took a brief break from training to visit head coach Jason Gillespie’s famous cricket academy in Adelaide.Â
The players were treated to a tour of the academy’s top-tier facilities, with the players marveling at the state-of-the-art training equipment, including advanced bowling machines designed to enhance technical skills.
The visit offered the team a look at how upcoming Australian talents are developed and honed. Several players also took the opportunity to purchase some cricket gear from the academy’s shop, making the trip both enriching and practical.
Among the visitors were Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Salman Ali Agha, Aamir Jamal, and Arafat Minhas with the cricketers hoping that a brief to the Jason Gillespie Academy will provide a happy distraction ahead of the all-important second ODI against Australia.
Down 1-nil in the series, Gillespie and his squad need a win at Adelaide to keep the prospects of winning the ODI series in Australia alive. The Australian is looking to defeat the country of his birth in his first assignment as coach of Pakistan’s white-ball team after the departure of Gary Kirsten.
The series is also serving as his audition to take over the role in a permanent capacity as PCB would prefer a steady head at the top especially with the Champions Trophy fast approaching.
The second ODI is set to take place tomorrow.
