Pakistan pacer Ihsanullah has said that he was not taken care of properly after his injury. In an interview, the right arm fast bowler stated that in him, Pakistan had uncovered a bowler that would enfeeble the batters facing up to him.
He explained that in the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the country had found someone who could properly intimidate the opposing team’s batters after a long while, and had he been taken care of properly when he was injured, he would still be doing that to batsmen today.
“In PSL 8, you had found a bowler who the batsmen would be afraid to play, the whole world was talking about it. That someone was me. Even if they were able to play me, they were playing scared,” said the 22-year-old.
Ihsanullah has been sidelined for quite a while now ever since an injury to his elbow in April 2023. It emerged at a later juncture that the pacer’s right elbow was neither properly treated nor addressed through surgery, and he did not undergo the necessary rehabilitation process for his condition.
While a part of the blame was placed on Ihsanullah himself for not fully complying with the prescribed medical protocols, the mistreatment of his injury was but one of many issues that led to the dismissal of much-maligned former Chief Medical Officer at the PCB, Dr. Sohail Saleem, who was forced to resign after an independent report revealed an utter failure at the PCB Medical Panel over treatment of injured fast bowlers.
