The Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain says that Pakistan’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy will be launched by the end of November. This policy aims to promote the adoption of electric vehicles across the country.
He explained that the initiative is part of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision to support and expand EV usage in Pakistan.
He shared that some local manufacturers are already producing electric two- and three-wheelers, with some three-wheelers being exported internationally.
Under Prime Minister Shehbaz’s leadership, the government has allocated $4 billion to support the EV sector. Part of this funding will go toward subsidies for electric two-wheelers, making them more affordable for the public.
The minister also announced that 100 electric bikes will be given to top-performing students across Pakistan as a reward for their academic achievements.
To support EV growth, the government plans to set up 40 charging stations along motorways and an additional 300 charging stations along highways and key locations.
