With the onset of winter, gas pressure has dropped even further in most areas of Lahore, causing difficulties for domestic users.
Residents in areas such as Garhi Shahu, Davis Road, Inner City, Muslim Town, Garden Town, Green Town, and Journalist Colony, among others, are facing severe hardships due to the gas shortage.
Aamir Tufail, the Managing Director of Sui Northern Gas Company, stated that gas demand triples in winter, and efforts are made to maintain adequate gas pressure during meal times.
However, domestic users report that gas is either unavailable or supplied at very low pressure in many areas, forcing people to rely on expensive LPG and firewood.
Users also noted that the gas shortage often prevents schoolchildren from having breakfast and that they only receive bills instead of gas.
Residents demand a survey of low-supply areas and call for the restoration of normal gas pressure to ensure adequate supply.
