Babar Azam Gifts Shirt to Usman Khawaja’s Foundation

Pakistan’s cricket superstar Babar Azam has donated a game-worn shirt to Usman Khawaja’s foundation in another gesture of goodwill between the two cricketing nations.

The jersey will be sold in an auction with the proceeds being donated to the Australian batters charity. Babar Azam, who is currently with his team in Brisbane, presented the jersey to Usman Khawaja himself during a brief meetup between the two. The Aussie batter is currently preparing for Australia’s upcoming five-match test series against India.

Babar has enjoyed an eventful return to the Pakistan cricket team both on and off the pitch. The former captain recently donated his bat to Australian cricket as well which will be featured in an exhibition alongside some of the greatest cricketers of their time.

On the pitch, he seems to have found his touch as well after struggling for form in recent years. He will look to keep the good run going when Pakistan likely takes on the opening duties during the upcoming three T20I series against the hosts.

Usman Khawaja, who is of Pakistani descent, established The Usman Khawaja Foundation to assist youth from refugee, immigrant, Indigenous, rural, remote, and socioeconomic backgrounds, through the provision of an introductory cricket program, as well as educational support.
